Connect your tools.
Choose the connection that fits your workflow. The steps below explain how documents reach RedlineIQ and how to get your comparison back.
No install
Add the connector
In Claude Desktop or claude.ai, add a custom connector and give it your key. Your agent gets the comparison tools directly. Nothing to install, no Mac required.
Documents are supplied as links (SharePoint, Drive, a signed URL). The connector is hosted, so it cannot read files on your machine.

Call the API
Send two files in one request. You get back a list of every change and both redline files. Use this when the documents are on your computer.
curl -s https://api.redlineiq.com/v1/compare \
-H "X-API-Key: $REDLINEIQ_API_KEY" \
-F "original=@original.docx" \
-F "modified=@modified.docx"Claude Code, Codex
Paste it into a coding agent
Agents that can run a shell already have everything they need. Give them this and they will redline the files on your disk.
Redline two Word documents with RedlineIQ.
POST them to https://api.redlineiq.com/v1/compare as multipart
fields "original" and "modified", with header
X-API-Key: $REDLINEIQ_API_KEY. The JSON response has
the full change list plus artifact URLs. Fetch those
with the same header.Operating limits
